Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. The modeling career she began with was in Italy which is where she was raised before being was born in California. In 1996, she made her debut as an actor in the TV film Her Costly Affair. It took some time for her to star in Starship Troopers in a smaller character. At first, it was difficult for her switching from modeling to acting. This is because most models aren't good actors. In the majority of cases, they're assigned small and insignificant role. But somehow Amy refused to give up and transitioned to larger roles, beginning with the TV series The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. After a while Amy made the jump into more leading roles. The film she starred in was the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. It was a huge box office success and Amy was finally able to get the success she'd been striving for for over 10 years. She did some big films within the Crank trilogy alongside Jason Statham. And she also played a recurring role on The Shameless series.
