Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin was born in Wellington, Manitoba. She grew up there. She began her acting career as Flora McGrath, the romantic drama film The Piano. Paquin is a native of Canada and New Zealand actress. She was born in Winnipeg however, she was raised in Wellington She made her first acting appearance as a character in The Piano. In this romance film, at the age of 11 years old, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. She won the role of Flora McGrath the daughter of a mute Scottish pianist, who in the mid-19th century moves to New Zealand for an arranged wedding when she answered an audition for open casting when she was just nine years old, and had no prior experience in acting. At the age of a teen the family relocated from Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin was played as the title child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. Also, she was the lead part as a lead character in Fly Away Home, a film from that same year. Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding as well as a small role as Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teens on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). She also portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
