Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised with twelve other kids. The vivid imagination of her mother helped her escape from the pressures of daily life. Prior to learning how to read or write and compose herself songs. The first guitar she received was gifted to her at the age of eighteen. The singer began her singing career at an Knoxville Tenn station by the age of 11. That following year, Gold Band Records was a tiny independent record label. Although she became a local star while in high school, her goals were greater. When she graduated from the high school in 1964, she moved immediately to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were the first two albums to chart from Monument Records. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for a new girl singer for his television show that was syndicated. Parton signed with RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She accepted her job in 1967. In 1974, she quit Wagoner's show due to the commercial success of her singles like Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was surpassing their joint albums. The two split in 1974, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it reached the top spot at No. 1 for the first time in 1974.
